Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design
Melinda Smith joined the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design’s student services staff in 2001. She is the director of student services for the Fay Jones School and assists the departments with curriculum management, coordinates student scholarships, aids in the organization of the Fay Jones School commencement and oversees the advising center staff.
Sheri Lynn Brown joined the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design’s advising staff in 2008. She is the senior academic counselor for the Fay Jones School and manages advising for second- through fifth-year students across all three departments. Brown enjoys guiding students through their academic careers and helping them to succeed.
A team of University of Arkansas faculty, staff and students designed a garden that was selected for the 2019 International Garden Festival at Chaumont-sur-Loire, a historic castle in France’s Loire River Valley.
Selwyn Bachus II (B.Arch. ’19) is a recent Fay Jones School grad who will be teaching for a year at Creighton Prep High School in Omaha, Nebraska. We spoke with Bachus during his final semester as an architecture student, and he talked about his plans for the future and his interest in bringing architecture to the black community.
