Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design
Matt Mihalevich (B.L.A. ’01) is the active transportation manager at the City of Fayetteville. In his role, he is responsible for all aspects of the development of the trail system. Mihalevich said he used his design degree to help create Fayetteville’s first paved trails and in the development of Fayetteville’s 54-mile network of shared-use paved trails.
Carl Smith is professor of landscape architecture at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design, where he’s taught since 2008. He is a Fellow of the Landscape Institute and Chartered (licensed) landscape architect in the United Kingdom. He’s also a Chartered Geographer and a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society. He has wide, international experience in the practice, teaching and research of landscape and urbanism, and is co-principal of Worth Design LLC, a landscape architecture and urban design office in Fayetteville.
Ngozi “Nome” Brown is an assistant professor of practice in architecture at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design. Brown, AIA, ASID, NOMA, NCARB, NCIDQ, M.Ed., LEED AP ND, EDAC, GPCP, is a licensed architect and an NCIDQ-certified interior designer. She is the owner and principal of NOB A+D, PLC, an architecture and interior design firm in central and northwest Arkansas.
Jason Jackson (B.Arch. ’06) is a partner and owner of brg3s architects in Memphis, Tennessee. During this conversation, he shared how difficult circumstances had him living alone at age 16, unsure if he could even attend college. Then, he persevered and thrived, eventually building a career for himself.
Justin Tucker (B.Arch. ’16) is the wood fabrication specialist at the Fay Jones School of Architecture and Design. In this conversation, he discussed how his architectural passion ignited early on when crafting things in childhood and has continued into his current position.
Lee Porter (B.L.A. ’11) is the owner and landscape architect at Ozark Green Roofs. During this conversation, she discussed developing a love for landscape architecture and beginning her own green roof company.
